The Rio Hondo First Baptist Church is known
across the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and
Northern Mexico. Bro. Gene Horton and his
wife Phynetta have served for over 44 years
at the Rio Hondo Baptist Church -- something
very unique in today's churches.
The church has been on television for over 40 years with a weekly broadcast currently seen on KGBT-TV Channel 4, which reaches untold numbers with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our church is known for its Bible preaching and teaching by Bro. Gene, and for its music led by Minister of Music, Vance Greek. Our 50-plus voice choir spreads the joy of Christ in music along with a host of special singers and groups. The music program is well-suited for all, as it ranges from traditional hymns to gospel music and contemporary Christian.
During the Fall and Winter months, the church family swells in attendance as our "Winter Texan" friends join us from all parts of the United States and Canada.
Classes for children, teens, singles, men, women, and couples are available and bible-centered. Rio Hondo Baptist Church is a place where you will feel loved, welcome, and "at home".
